Cheryl retired from the Baptist State Convention (BSCNC) of NC May 2022 after serving almost 10 years as Children’s and Family Ministry Strategist. She continues to serve as a children’s ministry contractor with the BSCNS offering training and help to NC Baptist churches. In addition to her service at the BSCNC, Cheryl served on staff at two Charlotte area churches as children’s minister for 17 years. Cheryl has been married to Curtis Makland since 1981 and has two adult children and their spouses and two granddaughters. Curtis and Cheryl are members at Lee Park Baptist Church in Monroe, NC.
